Keppet's View

Red is a great colour for making miniatures stand out, but getting convincing shadows and highlights can be tricky if you're jumping between unrelated paints. The Bloodtoof Red set gives you five coordinated tones in one package, making it easier to build a consistent red finish across a whole unit.

Whether you're painting brutal-looking armour, bold red details or an entire force, having the five tones together gives you room to experiment with different levels of contrast.

Warhammer Tone Pro – Bloodtoof Red Set (5 Paints)

Build a coordinated red colour scheme with the Warhammer Tone Pro Bloodtoof Red Set from Games Workshop. This set contains all five paints in the Bloodtoof Red range, with each supplied in a 12ml pot.

The Warhammer Tone Pro system uses five numbered tones for each colour, running from Tone 1, the darkest, to Tone 5, the lightest. This makes it easier to choose colours for shadows, main coats and highlights, with a consistent progression between each step.

Tone Pro paints are formulated for versatile miniature painting, including basecoating, layering, highlighting, glazing and drybrushing. The paints can also be used with Warhammer Tech Pro mediums to expand their capabilities.

  • Coordinated red colour progression: Move from darker tones to lighter highlights.

  • Versatile paint formula: Suitable for basecoating, layering, highlighting, glazing and drybrushing.

  • Designed for miniature painting: Suitable for Warhammer and other tabletop gaming miniatures.

Perfect For

  • Red armour and miniature details

  • Orks and Orruks, as well as other red-themed armies

  • Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar

  • Painting consistent red schemes across multiple models

  • Miniature painters who want a structured approach to shading and highlighting

The simplest way to use the set is to start with a darker or middle tone, then build up through the lighter colours. You can use all five for a more gradual transition, or select just two or three tones for a quicker tabletop-ready finish.

If you're experimenting with the Tone Pro system for the first time, try the progression on a spare model or test piece before committing to a whole unit. It's a useful way to work out how much contrast you want in your finished red scheme.
