Metallic paints can be a bit of a pain if they don't behave properly, but a good gunmetal is one of those paints you'll use constantly. Gun Metal is a great all-rounder for weapons, armour, mechanical parts and pretty much anything else that needs to look like it's made of metal.
I particularly like having a darker metallic available before reaching for something brighter for the highlights. It gives you much more control over how worn, shiny or battered you want the finished model to look.
