Keppet's View

Skeletons, undead armies, bone details and weathered scenery — Skeleton Bone is a brilliant shortcut when your project needs plenty of pale, earthy tones. Instead of painstakingly basecoating every miniature by hand, you can start with the right colour straight from the spray can and get on with the fun part.

The Army Painter – Colour Primer: Skeleton Bone (400ml)

Make painting bone-coloured miniatures quicker and easier with The Army Painter Skeleton Bone Colour Primer. This convenient spray combines primer and basecoat in one, giving your models a pale bone-coloured foundation ready for washes, highlights and additional details.

Designed to replicate the classic Bleached Bone colour, Skeleton Bone is an excellent choice for undead armies, skeletons and other miniatures featuring bone, ivory or aged cream tones. It is also useful for British WWII desert uniforms and vehicles where a lighter alternative to Desert Yellow is needed.

Key Features

  • Primer and basecoat in one – Save time by applying your primer and main colour in a single step.

  • Classic bone colour – Ideal for skeletons, undead miniatures, skulls and bone details.

  • Fast-drying acrylic formula – Get models ready for the next stage of painting.

  • Fine coverage – Designed to preserve miniature detail when applied correctly.

  • Matching Warpaints colour – Makes brush-painted touch-ups and additional details easier.

  • 400ml aerosol – Suitable for preparing multiple miniatures and larger projects.

Perfect For

  • Skeletons, zombies and undead tabletop armies.

  • Skulls, bones, horns and other pale details.

  • Fantasy miniatures and tabletop gaming models.

  • WWII desert uniforms and vehicle models.

  • Modellers looking for a warm, pale basecoat for terrain and scenery.

Application Tips

Shake the can thoroughly for one minute before use. Spray from approximately 15–20cm away, using several thin coats rather than one heavy application. Allow each coat to dry before applying the next, and test on a spare model or piece of sprue first.

Once dry, try applying a brown wash to bring out the recesses, followed by a light bone-coloured drybrush to pick out raised details. It's a simple way to get a convincing bone finish without spending hours painting every surface by hand.

Please note: This is a pressurised, highly flammable aerosol. Use outdoors or in a well-ventilated area, follow the safety instructions on the can, and check delivery restrictions before ordering.
