Keppet's View

Want to get straight into painting with Contrast paints? Wraithbone is an excellent starting point. Its warm, off-white colour works brilliantly for bone, ivory and pale colour schemes, while providing a great foundation for Contrast paints to bring out the details with minimal effort.

Citadel – Wraithbone Spray (400ml)

Get your miniatures ready for painting with Citadel Wraithbone Spray. Designed to make undercoating and basecoating easier, this spray provides a consistent, warm off-white foundation for your models.

Wraithbone is particularly useful as a base for Citadel Contrast paints, helping colours develop naturally across raised surfaces and recesses. Its smooth satin finish also makes it a versatile starting point for traditional layering and highlighting techniques.

Key Features

  • Ideal for Contrast paints – Provides a suitable basecoat for Citadel Contrast painting techniques.

  • Warm off-white colour – Excellent for bone, ivory and pale colour schemes.

  • Quick basecoating – Prepare multiple miniatures more efficiently than painting the initial coat by brush.

  • Smooth satin finish – Creates a suitable foundation for additional paint layers.

  • Versatile application – Useful for fantasy miniatures, sci-fi models, scenery and tabletop armies.

  • 400ml aerosol – Ideal for preparing multiple models in one painting session.

Perfect For

  • Skeletons, skulls, bones and undead miniatures.

  • Tyranids and other organic-looking creatures.

  • Fantasy and sci-fi armies using pale colour schemes.

  • Miniatures painted primarily with Citadel Contrast paints.

  • Hobbyists looking for a warm alternative to a pure white undercoat.

Application Tips

Shake the can thoroughly before use and follow the recommended spraying distance on the label. Apply light, even coats rather than one heavy layer, allowing the paint to dry before applying further coats. Avoid spraying in cold, damp or excessively humid conditions, and test on a spare model first.

For a quick bone effect, start with Wraithbone, apply a suitable brown or sepia Contrast paint, then pick out raised areas with a lighter bone colour. It's an effective way to achieve convincing bone details without laboriously building up every layer from scratch.

Please note: This is a pressurised aerosol. Follow the safety instructions on the can and check delivery restrictions before ordering.
