Clean tracks and pristine wheels can make even a beautifully painted vehicle look a little too fresh off the production line. Dark Mud Effect is a simple way to add that missing layer of realism, bringing deep, earthy mud to tracks, wheels, lower hulls and the surrounding terrain.

This enamel weathering product can be used straight from the pot or mixed with plaster to create thicker accumulations of mud. It's particularly useful for military vehicles, but there's plenty of scope for grimdark miniatures, industrial scenery and muddy diorama bases too.

Create realistic, dark earth and mud effects with AK Interactive Dark Mud Effect. This enamel-based weathering product is designed to recreate the deep brown soil commonly found in damp, muddy and heavily wooded environments.

Apply it directly to vehicle tracks, wheels and hulls to simulate accumulated dirt, or mix it with plaster to create thicker, textured mud. It can also be combined with other earth tones to build up varied and convincing weathering effects.

Application Tips

Apply directly from the bottle for subtle dark-earth effects. For thicker deposits, mix with plaster to increase the volume and texture. You can create mud splashes using a stiff brush and suitable tools; practise on scrap material first to control the pattern.

As this is an enamel-based product, use AK Interactive White Spirit or a compatible enamel thinner as directed by the manufacturer. Work in a well-ventilated area and follow the product's safety instructions.
